“Domus solis” Program Recognized as a European Social Innovation

This year, the social change incubator Domus solis participated in the Dizaino sparnai project, where, together with designer Agnė Sluckutė, they created something that, according to the organization’s founder Irena Blaževičė, had long been missing helping hands.

“The project gave us a clearly defined timeframe to implement our idea and, most importantly, a dedicated designer supported by a mentor, who devoted her full working time to our initiative,” says Irena Blaževičė.

She emphasizes that the opportunity to dive deep into the process, view the design solution from multiple perspectives, and stay focused without distractions was a tremendous gift.

Through close collaboration, open and sincere communication, and mutual trust, the team developed the Hero’s Journey toolkit – a structured set of session plans and all necessary materials. In early November, Domus solis received exciting news: this educational toolkit was recognized as a European social innovation and included in the Social Innovation Match (SIM) platform. The platform showcases inspiring examples of successful social innovations and helps connect with potential partners.

“Now we have comprehensive methodological materials and detailed session plans that can be used not only by our team but also by a much wider community of professionals working with children across Lithuania. This means that even more children will be able to discover their inner strength, connect with their inner hero, and develop group communication skills,” explains Blaževičė.

The Domus solis team is grateful for the community built through the Dizaino sparnai project, the project’s meaningful concept, and the valuable exchange between businesses, NGOs, and emerging designers. Blaževičė also highlights the importance of the training sessions organized during the project, noting that the insights and knowledge shared by lecturers enriched the team’s professional experience and broadened their perspective on many topics and challenges.
